Sue Fawthrop - Painter

The Studio at Brewery Cottage will be open on Sunday 11th March 2012, 11 - 5pm. Sue's paintings are about mood and atmosphere. Frequently based on landscapes and coastal scenes of Buckinghamshire, Dorset and North Wales. Tonal drawings and watercolours are made on site, with notes about weather, sounds and transitory events. These are developed into paintings in oil, watercolour, acrylic and collage in her Dorset studio in a semi abstract style. She also works from the human form and paints portraits. Her interest is in creating an exciting image with a sense of mystery, leaving some questions unanswered for the viewer to ponder. Sue is a member of AFAS and Wycombe Court Artists. She takes part in Bucks Open Studios at Wycombe Court House and has recently started to open her Dorset studio to the public once a month, showing a small set of themed works each time. She exhibits locally and nationally and her work is held in collections in Europe, Asia and South America.
