Sue Fawthrop

Painter

Latest news: Dorset Art Weeks 28 May - 12 June 2016 (more.....) Posted: 21 04 2016
Sue's paintings are about mood and atmosphere, frequently based on the landscape and coastal areas of Dorset. Drawings made on site, with notes about weather, sounds and transitory events are developed into paintings in oil, watercolour, acrylic and collage in her Dorset studio using semi abstract style.
She also works from the human form, paints portraits and has recently really enjoyed plein air painting with a big brush.
Her interest is in creating an exciting image with a sense of mystery, leaving some questions unanswered for the viewer to ponder.
Sue is a member of AFAS and shows with them at the Mall Galleries. She takes part in Dorset Art Weeks in her home studio, where she also runs classes and courses.
Sue exhibits locally and nationally and her work is held in collections in Europe, Asia and South America.
The studio is open by appointment, email sue.fawthrop@btopenworld.com
